Master Gardener Program
The Master Gardener and Composter
Programs are a combination of training and public service. Upon
finishing one of the training programs, the Master Gardener or
Composter must continue to volunteer to the community with a minimum
of 25 hour per year. The Master Gardener must also continue with
additional 10 hours per year training.
Master Gardener Training
The Master Gardener Training includes
a fourteen week term commitment of one all-day class per week.

In return for the education, participants
who are selected are asked to volunteer 60 hours to Master Gardener
activities within the first year, sharing what they've learned
with home gardeners in Thurston County. The fee for supplies
and materials is $275, with a $100 rebate upon completion of the course and the
60-hour commitment. (Click

2008 Master Gardener Training Program Applications are
available on-line, or you can pick one up at the Extension. Applications are due back in the Extension Office by November 15th. You may mail them or drop them off any time. For your convenience, there is a drop slot in the door.
Master Composter Training
The
Master Composter course training is approximately 18 hours which includes the following
